Enough.
A simple word with many different meanings depending on the context it’s used in.

So what is enough?

Do you know someone who seems to have ‘enough’ but just keeps going, wanting more, chasing something? Most of us do.

Enough means different things to different people and so while someone may have enough by our own standards, if they don’t have enough by theirs, they keep going. This is the simplest reason why everyone’s financial plan will be different, even though your situation may seem to be the same as someone else.

We make decisions unconsciously every day based on what we unknowingly think will get us to our ‘Enough’. So how do we really know what’s enough for us?

Well, that requires some work, mental work, so we understand what’s driving us. Because what we think is driving us very rarely is.

Here’s a challenge for you. The next time you want to buy something or do something ask yourself ‘Why’. Then when you get that answer ask yourself ‘Why’ again. By the time you get to about the sixth why you’ll have the real reason you’re doing what you’re doing. Think it’s easy? Give it a go.

Understanding why is the most important investment you can make in your financial future. Smart decisions require good reasoning, and at the heart of good reasoning is understanding yourself.
