Coscer have received notification that a temporary office will be established for flood-affected growers to discuss disaster relief loans. A copy of the email received is available below:

“Natural Disaster Assistance funding appointments available. Regional Area Manager for the state’s Far North, Sam Spina, is heading to Ingham to meet with local producers affected by recent flooding in the Cassowary Coast and Hinchinbrook areas.

Producers affected by rainfall and flooding associated with the 24 February – 8 March 2018 weather event are encouraged to visit Sam in Ingham to discuss the low-interest Natural Disaster Assistance loans currently available to assist. These loans are available at 1.32% over a period of 7 years, with up to 2 years interest only.

These loans can assist to re-establish your primary production enterprise by covering costs such as:

• repairing or replacing damaged plant and equipment

• replanting

• meeting the costs of carrying on production
